The School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences at Birkbeck, University of London, is seeking to recruit an Associate Lecturer to deliver the module Numbers, Proofs and Counting.
As an Associate Lecturer you will teach:
- Numbers, Proofs and Counting (Level 4), 30 hours teaching in total on Thursdays (18.00 - 21.00)
You will have in-depth knowledge of number systems, proof techniques, logic and mathematical reasoning and be qualified to the corresponding level of the award as required to teach (or demonstrate equivalent professional/industry level experience).
**Salary and benefits**
Payment is based on an hourly rate for contact hours worked. The specific rate depends on length of continuous service with the College and includes of pro-rata London Allowance and holiday pay. This hourly rate of **£68.13 per hour** is based on the starting point of Grade 7 and is inclusive of a ‘Duties Related to Teaching Multiplier’ which covers preparation, teaching, administration, assessment marking and other examining duties in connection with the course.
**Contract**
Part-time, 3 month fixed-term contract April - July 2025. Teaching Thursday evening 6-9pm. Closing date: 7 November 2024. Interview date: 12, 13, 14 November 2024.
