Role
Join our Advanced Clinical Practice Team to shape the future of advanced clinical practice education. We are looking for a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer with up‑to‑date, specialist knowledge in independent prescribing, physical assessment and advanced practice, backed by experience as a senior clinical practitioner. In this pivotal role you will teach and mentor students in the MSc Advanced Clinical Practice programmes, collaborate with students, academics, researchers, service users and healthcare partners, and develop high‑impact learning grounded in research and clinical practice.
Qualifications
and Experience
- Registration with the NMC or HCPC
- Relevant degree in a nursing, midwifery or allied health profession and a non‑medical prescribing qualification and advanced physical assessment experience
- Professional experience as a senior clinical practitioner
- A higher education teaching qualification and/or an HEA Fellowship, or willingness to undertake this within the first 12 months
- Up‑to‑date, sound knowledge of current developments in health, including clinical, professional, and policy developments, and the range of generic skills required to teach advanced practice
- Knowledge/experience of HEE/NHSE Advanced Clinical Practice multi‑professional competencies/frameworks
- Experience of leading and implementing creative approaches to develop teaching and learning of advanced practice related skills and knowledge in a university and/or practice setting
An active research portfolio and publication record is desirable but not essential.
