Role Overview
Joining as Pastoral Support & Attendance Leader, at a great time under new leadership, our welcoming, caring Warwickshire school is committed to ensuring that children are safe and happy, that relationships are strong, respect is embedded and there is a commitment to excellence. As a valued member of our staff you will be instrumental in supporting school. The role will include promoting the educational success and excellent outcomes for all pupils by encouraging and supporting their emotional needs, attitude to learning and mental‑health.
The Pastoral Leader will also work with families in need of Early Help, encourage good attendance and punctuality and will monitor and improve attendance across the school. This role also involves being a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and working with external agencies such as social workers.
Responsibilities
- Support pupils with personal, social, developmental and emotional problems.
- Work with outside agencies, maintain regular contact and meetings with parents, and work with pupils on a 1‑to‑1 and group basis, updating school policy regularly.
- Monitor attendance and punctuality closely and report data to stakeholders.
- Keep up to date with Trust and national attendance initiatives and requirements.
- Work with families to promote good attendance and punctuality.
- Report and take action on safeguarding concerns following school and Trust policy.
Qualifications & Personal Attributes
- Passion for the mental health and wellbeing of young people.
- Experience working with young people and their families to promote positive relationships with schools.
- Commitment to keeping pupils safe.
- High motivation and passion for making a difference to the lives of young people, with the natural ability to inspire and motivate.
- Emotional intelligence with the ability to build strong working relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
- Fluent spoken English (part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016).
