The University of Law Business School provides industry accredited courses (CMI, CIM and ACCA) including Business Management, Marketing, Law and Accounting, designed specifically with employability in mind.
We are currently looking for a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer to join our academic team at our centrally located London Moorgate campus in the heart of the City of London Finance District. Some teaching will also be required at our London Bloomsbury campus.
We are looking to hear from applicants with specialisms in Business Management, Business Strategy, Marketing or Human Resources.
Reporting to our Academic Manager, you will provide tuition across the University of Law Business School course portfolio, delivering postgraduate and undergraduate BSc courses to the best possible standard. You will be challenged by students and course content, adapt to different learning styles and methods of delivery, and be eager to share your expertise. The role includes marking in‑course assignments and final assessments, supporting students, and dealing with queries.
Responsibilities
- Teach and assess across the University of Law Business School course portfolio in subjects assigned to you, including written and presentation skills and providing individual feedback.
- Assist in the preparation of assignments and assessments.
- Participate in course design and review.
- Act as an academic coach to students, being available and willing to discuss students’ problems, performance and academic progression.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree (in Business and/or Management) or relevant professional qualifications. For Senior Lecturers – Fellowship of the HEA.
- Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (PgCHE) or equivalent.
- Teaching experience in a higher education setting or an educational establishment.
- Flexibility to teach across a range of subjects.
- Punctual, professional and committed to teaching.
For Senior Lecturers: You will have developed significant expertise in the practical delivery of teaching techniques, pastoral care, mentoring colleagues, assessments, marking and team leadership. If you do not currently hold or are not undertaking a PgCHE or equivalent qualification, it is a requirement that you enrol into the programme (delivered and financially supported by the University) within 12 months of passing probation.
Salary ranges: Lecturer £40,250 – £42,250; Senior Lecturer £48,000 – £53,000 + location allowance of £4,200.
