Position: Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Psychology (Counselling/Wellbeing)

Overview
Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Psychology (Counselling/Wellbeing) at Bath Spa University. The role involves teaching, curriculum development, and contributing to research in Psychology with a focus on counselling, counselling psychology, and/or wellbeing practice. The successful candidate will work with industry and educational partners and support student experience through teaching and scholarly activity.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver teaching content across a range of modules at Levels 4 to 6 in Psychology Programmes.
- Contribute to curriculum planning and development and engage in research or scholarly activity in Psychology.
- Develop new courses and help guide teaching and research focus within Bath Spa University’s Psychology discipline.
- Supervise or mentor colleagues with less experience and advise on personal development.
- Engage in relevant research and scholarly activity to inform curriculum design and student experience in support of the university’s research strategy.
- Contribute to activities such as open days, public events, and building links with business and the community; participate in moderation and quality assurance processes.
About You / Qualifications
- Teach Psychology with a focus on applied Psychology at undergraduate levels, with a BPS-accredited degree in Psychology and experience teaching or researching applied Psychology; other backgrounds will be considered.
- Aptitude for developing educational partnerships and excellent networking and communication skills; flexible and adaptable; a committed team player.
- Interest in contributing to open days, public events, and building links with business and community partners.
- Ready to contribute to teaching and research development in alignment with the university’s aims.

Salary and Benefits
- Salary:
Grade Ac3S/Ac3A – Starting from £44,746 rising to £56,536 per annum. - Benefits include Local Government Pension Scheme/Teacher’s Pension Scheme, enhanced paid leave, family-friendly policies, employee assistance program, transport schemes, and discounts via benefits app.
