A vacancy has arisen for a Sergeant (Int An) to serve as SNCO 3 Apprenticeship Coordinator at UKSC Chicksands on Full Time Reserve Service (Limited Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of 05 January 2026 (or earlier/later, subject to candidate status).
Job Description
The role is parented at Chicksands. There is a strong likelihood local parenting via the RAF Intelligence Phase 2 training school will transition to an alternative MOD site (not before 2028), real-life support options are intended to remain the same; options can be discussed at Interview.
Apprenticeship Coordinator Tasks
Under the direction of the Apprenticeship Centre Manager, responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
a. Liaison with senior personnel at Units iot highlight Apprenticeship Strategy.
b. Delivery, assessment and assurance of the RAF Intelligence Analyst Apprenticeship scheme.
c. Ensuring compliance with policy on apprenticeships and contract requirements.
d. Learner progress monitoring and reporting, pre- and post-graduation.
e. Coordinating inspection of training by military and civilian outside agencies.
f. Deputising as Centre Manager as and when required.
g. Mentoring all personnel involved with delivery of key skills and apprenticeship qualifications.
h. Assisting in the production of centre assessment, improvement and development plans.
i. Management, welfare and discipline of Apprenticeship Centre JNCOs and RO duties when required. These duties are extended, where appropriate, to apprentices under immediate supervision.
j. The post holder will be required to maintain annual continuous professional development (CPD) for the role and may be required to receive training related to their specialisation at MOD or civilian training establishments.
The post requires a Level 3 certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement and a Level 4 award in Internal Quality Assurance, full training will be given to applicants who do not already hold these qualifications.
Mobility as FTRS (LC). Occasional travel to MOD Units where RAF Intelligence Analyst apprentices are assigned will be required.
