We’re looking for a Quality Control Apprentice to join our growing team, where you’ll learn how to carry out quality control testing in a real manufacturing laboratory, while developing key scientific and technical skills. You’ll be working alongside an experienced team who will support your learning and help you grow in confidence and capability.

What You’ll be Doing at Kerakoll
As part of your apprenticeship and development journey, you’ll gain experience in:
- General good laboratory practices (GLP)
- Understanding and caring for laboratory equipment
- Following and performing quality tests in line with specific methods and procedures
- Understanding industry regulations and standards such as BS EN 12004, BS EN 13813 and ISO 9001
- Learning how quality control supports manufacturing processes
- Building a basic understanding of construction materials
- Developing a methodical approach to your work
- Working collaboratively within a quality team
What You’ll Be Doing at Kerakoll (Once Trained)
- Upon successful completion of your apprenticeship, you’ll be able to:
- Analyse incoming goods, raw materials and finished products
- Adhere to national and internal quality standards for testing
- Identify and report on non-conformities
- Accurately record and present data following laboratory procedures
- Operate and maintain laboratory testing equipment
- Manage returned goods in line with recycling or safe disposal processes
- Communicate your findings clearly to internal stakeholders
- Present test results and data to both local and international colleagues
- Prioritise your workload safely and effectively
- Assist with stakeholder queries and ad hoc tasks from the QC Manager
- Carry out regular cleaning and calibration of laboratory equipment
- Undertake manual handling duties (up to 25kg)
Starting Salary: £20,800(40 hours per week)
4-weekly rotating shift pattern:
- Week 1: Morning (6:00 – 14:30)
- Week 2: Day (8:30 – 17:00)
- Week 3: Evening (13:30 – 22:00)
- Week 4: Day (8:30 – 17:00)
