Salary: £37,000 - £43,500 (depending on experience)
Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week

The Role
As an Internal Quality Assurer, you will be pivotal in ensuring the quality assurance of gas and plumbing apprenticeship programs. Your responsibilities will include effective sampling, observations, feedback, coaching, and support. You will work collaboratively with Tutors, Training Officers, and Quality Managers to implement best practices and boost learner success.
This is a home-based role, requiring frequent travel throughout your region to directly support staff and learners.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct planned internal quality assurance sampling and observations across gas and plumbing training.
- Provide insightful feedback and coaching to Tutors and Assessors to enhance their delivery methods.
- Analyze sampling data and outcomes to pinpoint development needs while ensuring compliance with awarding body standards.
- Prepare for and assist with EQA visits and audits.
- Contribute to standardization activities and broader curriculum development goals.
- Leverage technical expertise to support quality improvement initiatives among colleagues.
- Act as a subject matter expert, offering advice on assessment strategies and best practices.
- Encourage and foster a culture of continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
What You'll Need
Essential:
- A valid Level 4 IQA qualification (TAQA / V1 / D34 equivalent) - must be held prior to starting
- Extensive IQA experience in gas and plumbing apprenticeships
- Level 3 qualification in Domestic Gas (e.g., Gas Installation Studies, Gas Fitting Final, or similar)
- Gas Safe registered and current with industry standards
- Level 3 Award in Plumbing, Water Regulations, and Unvented Systems
- Strong familiarity with the Building Services industry
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in IT systems and remote quality assurance techniques
- Maths and English GCSE (A-C / 9-4) or equivalent
- Full UK driving licence and a willingness to travel
Desirable:
- Experience in conducting teaching and learning observations
- Health & Safety qualification (e.g., IOSH Managing Safely)
- ACS modules: Central Heating Boilers, Cookers & Hobs, Fires, Flue Gas Analysis
