Lecturer - Computing (Software Engineering) (LEC2729) Salary: £29,681.00 - £38,281.00 Per annum Contract Type: Permanent, full time. 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. Location: Paignton, Devon South Devon College is recruiting for a Lecturer - Computing (Software Engineering) to undertake a lead role, which is directly responsible for teaching, learning and assessment, including responsibility for course organisation, personal tutor and quality assurance. A lecturer is responsible for ensuring the planning, preparation and delivery of the SOLAR (Scheme of learning and reflection) or Module Guide for HE, and lesson planning, which could require the lecturer to work across different academic levels and subject areas. In all cases, the lecturer will organise all elements of the programme and the student outcomes on the unit/modules and courses they deliver.
The successful candidate will hold a degree (level 6) in a computing related discipline and if not already held to attain a teaching qualification within 3 years. Experience of working in the computing industry within a software development role or delivery of such topics within an education environment or a passion for computing software development and a desire to share your knowledge with others. You will have good organizational/ communication skills and a commitment to continually improve your teaching, learning and assessment practices.
Successful candidates may be able to apply for a recruitment and retention payment through the Department for Education, Targeted Retention Incentive. providing they are within their first five years of teaching within Further Education.
