We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Health & Safety, First Aid Trainer and Consultant to join the team at OJ Health and Safety. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality First Aid and Health & Safety training, conducting on-site audits for new clients and actively supporting the growth of our training services. This is a client-facing role that combines technical expertise with a proactive and business development mindset. The ideal candidate will hold a NEBOSH qualification, have a strong background in construction, and bring proven training experience. A team-oriented approach and strong interpersonal skills are essential.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, compliant First Aid and Health & Safety training courses to a range of clients across various industries.
- Conduct Health & Safety audits for new clients, providing practical and actionable recommendations.
- Support the growth of the training division by identifying new business opportunities and promoting OJ’s training services.
- Work closely with the marketing team to develop training materials and maintain course relevance and quality.
- Build strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor on Health & Safety and compliance matters.
- Maintain accurate records of training delivered, client audits and follow-up actions.
- Stay up to date with relevant legislation and best practice to ensure training content remains current.
- Represent OJ Health and Safety in a professional and personable manner at all times.
- Contribute to team meetings, planning sessions and company initiatives aimed at service improvement and business development.
Essential Qualifications
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent Health & Safety qualification).
- Membership of IOSH (TechIOSH minimum).
- Proven training experience in First Aid and Health & Safety disciplines.
- Relevant construction-related qualification or demonstrable experience in the construction industry.
- Accredited Trainer (e.g. Level 3 Award in Education and Training or equivalent).
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage learners of all levels.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic digital tools used for training and reporting.
Desirable:
- Experience delivering accredited courses such as IOSH, CITB, or Highfield.
- Additional Health & Safety qualifications (e.g. NEBOSH Construction, Fire Safety).
- Sales or business development experience within the training or consultancy sector.
- Membership of additional professional bodies (e.g. IIRSM, AIFireE).
