Student Electrical Engineer – Higher Apprenticeship

About the Opportunity
Join us as a Student Electrical Engineer and play a hands-on role in designing, developing, and delivering electrical systems for some of the UK’s most exciting large-scale projects — with individual electrical values of up to £12 million.
You'll work alongside professionals across multiple departments, gaining vital experience and practical skills while continuing your education on a day-release basis. This is a brilliant opportunity to start your engineering career with real impact and long-term development potential.
What You'll Be Doing
· Working on large-scale, high-value projects across commercial and industrial sectors
· Splitting time between our Corby office and sites across the UK
· Assisting with electrical design work, technical drawings, and system layouts
· Defining each aspect of a project and selecting the best execution methods
· Estimating activity durations, resource requirements, and developing detailed project schedules
· Defining work tasks and interdisciplinary relationships needed to deliver projects successfully
· Liaising with external contractors and suppliers to coordinate development phases
· Supporting the project lifecycle from concept through to completion
Training & Development
We’re committed to supporting your continued education. You’ll attend college on a day-release basis to achieve:
- ONC (2 years)
- HNC (2 years)

Who We’re Looking For
We're looking for motivated individuals who are eager to build a career in electrical engineering and contribute to delivering high-impact projects.
Eligibility Criteria:
- A minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grades 4–9 / A–C) including:
- At least a Grade 5 (B) in Maths and English
- Must be eligible to work in the UK
- Enthusiasm for engineering and a willingness to learn
- Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
- Interest in electrical systems, project planning, and working with a team
