The role
Learning and Development Officer RCN Scotland (Edinburgh Office), 35 hours, fixed term / secondment opportunity until April 2025. Part time at 28 hours would be considered. This role is hybrid and there will be an expectation to travel to the Edinburgh office and surrounding areas on a regular basis. As a critical member of the RCN Scotland Learning and Development Team, you’ll use your positive attitude, learning expertise and knowledge of health and social care in Scotland to support RCN Scotland members develop in their roles, with and emphasis on the Health Care nursing support worker role. (NSW) Every day will be filled with possibilities as you find new ways to engage with members, developing innovative approaches that will support learning and development across a range on settings in which our members work, especially those in a Health Care nursing support worker role (NSW). Supporting our members will be your primary role, but you will play a key role in suggesting innovative approaches to grow and maintain our membership, with a focus on the NSW role. Work with teams in RCN Scotland and RCN UK to highlight the value of the NSW nursing contribution, including engaging with national initiatives targeted towards nursing support workers.
The person
As the RCN Scotland Development Officer, a key focus will be co-ordinating a range of member focused initiatives alongside providing direct delivery of member focused learning and development. Therefore, previous experience in designing and delivering learning focussed resources will be a significant component of this post. This post allows for a high level of collaborative team working, creative diversity and a genuine recognition of the value that NSWs bring to nursing teams in the health and independent/social care environment.
