About
I am a self motivated and passionate individual looking for a career opportunity with your organisation. With over twenty years of experience across education, pastoral care, mental health, safeguarding, and social care, I offer a unique combination of expertise that will ensure I am an asset to your organisation.
My career has been defined by supporting vulnerable learners, promoting emotional resilience, and leading wellbeing-focused interventions across diverse settings. In my recent role as a Health and Social Care Teacher at Nacro Education Centre, I created a nurturing classroom culture that supported learner confidence, engagement, and wellbeing, mirroring the school-wide ethos you prioritise. I applied trauma-informed and behaviour management strategies that reduced disruption, increased focus, and improved student motivation/wellbeing. I am also currently a Specialist mentor for University Students for Randstad.
As a former experienced Adults Social Worker, across multiple NHS Trusts and Local Authorities, this has strengthened my safeguarding expertise, risk assessment skills, and ability to support complex emotional, behavioural, and mental health needs. My experience conducting assessments, coordinating care plans, and leading crisis intervention aligns with the requirement to monitor student wellbeing, behaviour, safeguarding, and attendance. I am able to manage sensitive issues calmly, ensuring all decisions remain student-centred and ethically grounded.
I have worked extensively with multidisciplinary teams including educators, mental health practitioners, therapists, advocates, and external agencies. This is relevant to roles in education, particularly around leading pastoral systems and liaising with wider services to ensure students receive support. I have also trained and mentored university students, with complex needs, junior colleagues, service users.., ensuring that wellbeing principles are embedded into practice.
With professional qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Safeguarding Adults/Children, Equality & Diversity, and Mental Health Advocacy, and experience across FE, secondary, and community settings, I am confident in being able to deliver a robust, strategic, and culturally responsive wellbeing and teaching approach at the college. I have extensive experience and commitment to adopting equal opportunities policy and working with diverse individuals.
Given the opportunity, I will be an asset to your organisation. I am passionate to excel and support the students academic learning and wellbeing.
In my spare time I enjoy walking and going to the gym and attending exercise classes - this is important for my well being. I also like to help in the community, where I can, whether its helping someone directly, or through an event... I have also been a former TV presenter for a channel, in which I was the host of a talk show.
An opportunity in education will allow me to use my diverse skills, experience, passion, to help students, both on a academic and well being level.
