I have strong experience leading learning and development activity across complex organisations. This includes designing training plans, professional development programmes, induction activity and role specific development pathways that support both organisational priorities and staff confidence.
Workforce development and planning
I am experienced in identifying workforce needs and turning them into practical development plans. I have supported managers and senior leaders with staff development, succession planning, career pathways and capability building across large teams and varied areas of provision.
Induction, onboarding and mandatory training
I have led induction, onboarding and professional development activity for staff working across different locations, roles and services. I understand the importance of making sure new and existing staff receive the right training at the right time, especially in settings where compliance, safety and quality are essential.
Leadership development and coaching
I have supported leadership development through CPD, coaching, management development and practical support for team leaders and managers. I am confident working with leaders to identify development needs, improve performance, manage change and build stronger teams.
Quality assurance and improvement
I have a strong background in quality assurance, inspection readiness, audit compliance and continuous improvement. I have used staff development, performance data, feedback and quality reviews to improve practice, strengthen consistency and support better outcomes.
Data, LMS and reporting
I am confident using training data, LMS systems, CRM systems, staff feedback and performance information to identify gaps and improve learning activity. I have led the implementation of new systems and tracking processes to improve visibility, reporting and decision making.
Apprenticeships and career pathways
I have extensive experience leading apprenticeship and training provision, including large scale delivery across a wide range of sectors and standards. I understand how apprenticeships can support workforce development, career progression, retention and long term organisational capability.
People management
I have managed large teams and supported staff development, performance management, succession planning and change. My leadership style is calm, supportive and clear, with a focus on trust, accountability and continuous improvement.
Stakeholder engagement
I have worked closely with senior leaders, operational managers, HR colleagues, employers, training providers, local authorities and external partners. I am confident building relationships, influencing decisions and making sure learning activity meets both staff and organisational needs.
Safeguarding, inclusion and person centred practice
I have experience embedding safeguarding, inclusion, accessibility, personal development and support into learning and quality improvement activity. I would bring a values led approach to this role, with a strong focus on dignity, respect, inclusion and high standards.
Digital and blended learning
I have developed and improved digital, online and blended learning approaches to increase access, consistency and engagement. I understand the value of using online learning where appropriate, while also recognising the importance of face to face training, coaching and practical support.
Budget and provider management
I have managed significant budgets, external providers and funded training activity. I am confident ensuring learning activity offers value for money and supports organisational priorities, compliance requirements and staff development.

About
I am a senior education, skills and workforce development leader with strong experience in learning and development, staff training, apprenticeships, workforce planning and quality improvement. I currently lead the Learning and Development function at Education Development Trust, supporting induction, professional development and upskilling for more than 300 practitioners nationally. My work is focused on making sure staff have the knowledge, confidence and support they need to do their jobs well, while also ensuring training is consistent, accessible and aligned to organisational priorities.
I bring a strong mix of strategic leadership and practical delivery. In my current role and previous senior leadership role at Bath College, I have led large teams, managed significant budgets, improved quality, supported inspection readiness and developed learning programmes that respond to real workforce needs. At Bath College, I was responsible for 220 staff, a £7m budget and provision supporting more than 7,000 learners each year. This gave me valuable experience of staff development, succession planning, performance improvement, employer engagement and working across a complex organisation with different teams and priorities.
I am interested in this role because Bright Futures’ purpose strongly appeals to me. The focus on supporting children, young people and adults with autism, learning disabilities and complex needs is something I would take seriously. I have spent my career working in education, skills and support settings where the quality of staff training has a direct impact on people’s confidence, safety, development and outcomes. I would bring a values led approach to the role, with a strong focus on dignity, respect, inclusion and high standards.
My background fits well with the main priorities of this role. I have experience of induction, onboarding, statutory and mandatory training, professional development, apprenticeships, digital learning, leadership development, workforce planning and quality assurance. I am confident using data, feedback, LMS systems and performance information to identify gaps, improve training and support managers to make informed decisions. I have also worked closely with senior leaders, operational managers, HR colleagues, employers and external partners to make sure learning activity is practical, relevant and linked to organisational needs.
I would bring a calm, credible and hands on leadership style. I am comfortable working strategically, but I also understand the importance of getting the basics right, particularly in an organisation where training, compliance, care and education all need to work together. I would be keen to help Bright Futures strengthen its learning culture, improve staff confidence, develop future leaders and create clear development pathways that support retention, progression and high quality care and education
