About
I am a qualified and registered Social Worker with over 16 years of experience in practice, teaching and supporting learners. I hold a Master’s degree in Social Work and I am registered with Social Work England. I am passionate about social work education and committed to helping students develop the knowledge, skills and confidence needed for professional practice.
I have experience teaching in higher education and have also worked as a Practice Teacher, supporting and assessing student social workers on placement. I have a strong ability to link theory to real-life practice, using my experience in safeguarding, child protection and working with vulnerable children and families to bring learning to life.
I have taught in both secondary schools and higher education in the UK and Africa, which has helped me understand the needs of diverse learners. I am committed to inclusive teaching and widening participation, ensuring that all students feel supported and able to succeed.
I enjoy working with colleagues to develop and improve curriculum content and I am keen to use creative and digital approaches to make learning engaging and relevant to modern social work practice. I also have experience working closely with placement providers and supporting students throughout their learning journey.
I care deeply about making a difference, both for my students and for the social work profession, and I am motivated to contribute to high-quality teaching, learning and programme development.
