About
I am a highly qualified English language specialist with extensive experience teaching ESOL to learners from a wide range of linguistic, cultural and educational backgrounds. I hold a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics and TESOL from the University of Sheffield, a CELTA qualification, and a BA in English Language and English Language Teaching. My academic training has provided me with a strong understanding of second language acquisition, curriculum design and effective language pedagogy.
Throughout my career I have taught the full range of language skills – reading, writing, listening, speaking and grammar – to learners of all ages and proficiency levels, from young learners to adults. I have delivered both classroom-based and online lessons, designing engaging and interactive sessions that support learners in developing confidence, communication skills and academic English.
I have significant experience preparing students for formal English language examinations including IELTS, IGCSE English, PET and KET. This has involved diagnosing learners’ needs, planning structured lesson sequences, monitoring progress and providing detailed feedback to help students achieve their academic goals. My teaching approach focuses on inclusive learning, differentiation and creating supportive classroom environments where students feel motivated to participate and succeed.
I have worked with international students in a variety of contexts, including schools and private tutoring roles in Saudi Arabia, Spain and Cyprus, as well as online teaching environments. These experiences have strengthened my ability to support learners adapting to new educational systems and cultural contexts. I am committed to promoting equality, respect and inclusive learning practices, ensuring that all learners feel valued and supported in reaching their potential.
In addition to teaching, I have contributed to curriculum support, student welfare and extracurricular activities, demonstrating strong organisational skills, adaptability and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in busy educational environments.
