Dear Sir / Madam
I have spent the majority of my career in business development and systems training, both of which are underpinned by a technical understanding of complex IT systems.

Following my redundancy in August 2024, we purchased a home in North Wales for our future retirement, which I refurbished last year. I look forward to continuing my career in a part time or full time capacity, as I am keen to work up to and beyond my 67th birthday.

I would like to find a role that is more aligned with coaching and mentoring, as I look to pass on my wealth of experience to others. I believe that this would be a huge asset to any business. I am supremely fit and extremely mentally agile.

I am currently working my notice and I am looking to get back to my first love, creating and delivering technical / sales training.

Often described as an experienced, adaptable IT professional with excellent people skills and the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships. My perceived strengths are an exceptional ability to plan and organise my time, enabling effective management of the area under my remit. I am self motivated, full of energy and enthusiasm, who combines clear communication skills with
excellent product sales knowledge and a logical approach to resolving complex technical issues. The use of defined KPI's helps monitor, track and plan forongoing improvement of course content and delivery, which I found particularly useful in my previous role at Upland Objectif Lune.

Tesco Mobile (2025 - In Notice Period)
1 year after being made redundant I secured the position of dual site Phone Shop Manager with Tesco Mobile. Since taking ownership of the two stores, I have recruited and trained 5 new sales colleagues, increasing my teams to a total of 10. The phone shop colleagues sell contracts and insurance from Apple, Samsung and Motorola handsets. My responsibilities include, meeting store targets measured against five KPI’s and the management of the store teams, including recruitment, coaching and mentoring and driving sales within each site.

Upland Objectif Lune (2014 - 2024)
In February 2014 I joined Objectif Lune as the Training & Accreditation Manager to develop, sell and deliver sales and technical training, based on the companies portfolio of business automation
software. During my tenure I developed a range of courses (1-3 days in length) for both
physical and online delivery, including written documentation and video accompaniment. (produced with Camtasia and Audacity).

For the UK resellers, I also created a merit based Reseller Accreditation Programme for sales, pre-sales and post-sales staff. Over three hundred delegates from our global print partners, Canon, Ricoh and Konica Minolta benefited from these courses. In addition to my primary role, I also provided internal training as part of a new starters induction.

My remit covered the administration of all end user and reseller courses and I also assisted the company in achieving ISO 9001 / ISO 27001 accreditation in 2019.

Computers Unlimited (1994 - 2014)
I joined as an Account Manager and ended my tenure as a Business Development Manager. Reporting to the Sales Director of a £60 million pound IT Distributor. I was responsible for the recruitment of channel partners to sell from a portfolio of products and assist them to overachieve on their monthly sales target of circa 150K per month, helping to grow reseller business in my territory to over 50K GP per month, across my tenure.

In addition to this, I regularly organised and presented at many successful seminars throughout the UK with Adobe and working closely with Macromedia, on their ‘Add Life To The Web’ roadshows.

Technically, I am comfortable with Windows OS, Mac OS, Unix/Linux. I have an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft 365, skills in HTML, CSS and Javascript. I have presented for and used many of the desktop applications from Apple, Adobe and Macromedia whilst in my role at Computers Unlimited.

Away from work, I enjoy travel, particularly cruising, property refurbishment,
road cycling, cycle maintenance and fell walking.
