About
Quality, compliance & operational assurance leader with 25+ years experience in the adult funded learning & employability sector, working at senior level (incl. SMT) across multi-site and remote delivery models. I help providers and awarding/assessment organisations strengthen standards, improve performance, and stay audit-ready without creating unnecessary bureaucracy. My background spans governance, quality management systems (QMS), risk & issue management, contract mobilisation and delivery (ESFA/ESF/DWP and commissioner-led programmes), and leadership of dispersed teams. I m particularly strong at translating complex requirements into practical controls that teams can follow day-to-day: clear policies, consistent evidence standards, training/standardisation, and reporting that leaders can actually use. I m highly data-led. I build and maintain performance frameworks, dashboards and decision packs for SLT, turning mixed-quality operational data into clear trends, risks and actions. This includes QA reporting, accreditation/awarding body readiness, risk registers, complaints/escalations insight, and continuous improvement (Plan Do Check Act). I m used to working at pace, prioritising what matters most, and giving calm, impartial advice in sensitive or high-scrutiny situations. I also bring modern, practical capability in responsible AI use within assessment/learning settings developing policy-led approaches that protect authenticity and fairness while supporting staff and learners to use tools appropriately. This work has been recognised as best practice by awarding bodies. What I m looking for next: quality, compliance, governance, operational assurance and performance/insight roles within adult funded learning (provider, awarding body or related organisations). I m happy in hybrid/remote models, comfortable with stakeholder-heavy roles, and open to occasional travel for audits/visits where required.
