About
I am proficient in presenting and facilitating a variety of topics including Conflict Management, Management Development, Mental Health and Employee Relations. As part of my role I have not only implemented and delivered a multi-level Management Development Programme, but I have also created a Mental Health provision in a company where there was none. I have liaised with senior stakeholders to ascertain the gaps in knowledge and policy, and designed an engaging program and strategy, designed to equip managers and non-managers alike, in all things Mental Health related. This included being able to accredit staff as Mental Health First Aiders as I am a Mental Health First Aider Instructor. In addition to the above, I am proficient in delivering conflict management programmes as well as developing conflict resolutions skills in a management population. Alongside this I am also experienced in providing training in effective communication styles, and assertive communication. All of which have proven to be highly engaging and impactful due to feedback and evaluation metrics. I have extensive experience in building and maintaining strong relationships with a wide range of clientele, this being within my organisation in the Transport industry, and in my previous role as a Treatment Manager in prison, where I worked with difficult to engage offenders and external stakeholders. These experiences and close-knit relationships have allowed me to develop an excellent understanding of needs, strategies, objectives and identifying opportunities to develop growth for myself, the role, and the organisation I am placed in. My current role requires me to be highly organised and to balance shifting priorities as I am currently only 1 of 2 Learning and Development Business Partners responsible for developing over 15,000 employees across multiple sites. Alongside my role as a Business Partner, I must balance my time delivering training, creating programmes, reporting on metrics and KPI s, building relationships with stakeholders, providing 1-1 coaching, establishing a Mental Health provision and will shortly be creating a proposal for a coaching and mentoring strategy. I believe this level of organisation will be of massive benefit to any organisation I join. My passion lies in the development of others. I have 8 years of experience in training and delivery, 5 of these working in a field which heavily invests in training and developing the most difficult to reach and engage individuals; those in prison. These 5 years have allowed me the opportunity to liaise and train people from all levels and all abilities. My passion for self-development and the development of others has also led me to become a qualified coach and provide 1-1 support to managers who want to excel in their role or require support during performance and or disciplinary processes. Alongside this I frequently deliver presentations to a wide range of stakeholders and possess the flexibility to tailor my language, pace and style to the needs and understanding of the audience. I have delivered to HR directors, to first- and second-tier managers and those just beginning their careers. This is primarily face to face but also through blended learning and creating bespoke presentations and packages that involve interaction to ensure participant engagement. I have experience in my previous role managing a dedicated but small team of 7 in a demanding and dangerous area of work and maintained not just their physical well-being but also their Mental Health. I will always balance this with the business needs of the organisation I work for. Due to my previous experience as a manager and from my current role, where I deliver training/guidance on Employee Relations/People Processes (Managing Performance, Disciplinaries, the Equality Act of 2010 etc....) I am well versed in what being a manager entails and the legal aspects of the role. In regards to legislation and compliance, I have created and developed training material which has required a great deal of research regarding employment legislation and policies around Dignity at Work and EDI. Every role I have had has been a person-facing role and centered around the development of others, thus allowing me to develop superior interpersonal skills. With a Master s in Psychology and a role within the Transport Industry, I understand the importance of being able to navigate conflicting priorities and how to handle conflict when it arises. This is a skill I developed throughout my years working within a prison, where I have successfully managed and de-escalated conflict, and in my current role, where I have designed and delivered conflict management training. I have worked with a wide range of clientele from offenders within prison, those sectioned under the Mental Health Act, to a corporate population. I have had success in every role I have worked in and if selected for this role I would bring the same drive and performance to this role and your company. If successful in this role I will seek further developmental opportunities for myself and others in order to drive the team, department and ultimately organisation to success. Many thanks Mariam Bibi
