Skills
I am skilled at managing risk and safeguarding to a high level through offering appropriate relational counselling in a way that meets clients where they are. This integrative approach includes person centred, existential and creative ways to bring out and encourage client engagement. Previously, this has included music as directed by the client, dreams, metaphors and imagery, inner child work and symbols. I am a skilled group facilitator having designed and run women's groups, a creative group, young persons LGBTQ+/ND groups and more recently Power over Pain group alongside a Physiotherapist. This involved group design, engagement, risk assessment, coordinating group dates and resources and group review and evaluation.
About
I am an experienced Psychotherapist and Group Facilitator looking for a new role. Since qualifying, my area of focus has been to remain in charities working with justice, poverty and trauma - often coinciding alongside domestic violence, addiction, depression and anxiety. Throughout my working career, I have worked frontline with barriers to individuals not being able to live the lives they desire, whether in a support role as a sign language support for students, a sighted assistant to an individual in his successful career or to my counselling clients recovering from trauma, burns and other traumatic events.
