Skills
Although I do not hold a teaching qualification I have been involved in local teaching throughout my career to all levels of Nurses, Advanced Clinical Practitioners and Doctors. This has including teaching on the St. Mary s Emergency Gynaecology Course, teaching clinical skills such as pelvic and speculum examination, abdominal examination, first trimester ultrasound scanning, minor surgical procedures under local anaesthetic (Manual vacuum aspiration and word catheter). I have also developed teaching and competency assessments for these procedures to be used locally. Most recently I was involved in the development of a training and competency document for Endometriosis Specialist Nurse which was acknowledged by the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy Endometriosis Nurses Innovation award. I am aiming to use some of the work I have done on a research projection for conference presentation and publication, but this is still an active project due to finish in June 2026.
About
I am currently an Advanced Clinical Practitioner working autonomously within Gynaecology and practice within the 4 pillars of Advanced Clinical Practice. My role is 80 % clinical which includes actively working in research and I am keen to progress further into an education role alongside my clinical role. I have always had a passion for education and supporting others to develop in order to achieve best clinical practice. I am very passionate about the benefits of the role of Advanced Clinical Practitioners and the potential they have in transforming the healthcare work force and delivering high quality timely care for our patients. Knowledge on Women s healthcare is pertinent in Advanced Clinical Practice to address unique biological needs and equality in healthcare. I have experience with Gynaecological presentations and early pregnancy complications in the acute care setting and long term care. I would be privileged to have a role in which helps to sustain and grow Advanced Clinical Practitioners and women healthcare.
