Skills
Building rapport with learners - regardless of their background. Helping support ESOL learners and making them realise their potential in a subject that they seem to lack confidence in. Being adaptable - ESOL learners in particular need a tutor who can identify gaps in learning and therefore focus more on these. Listening - I am aware that each learner is on a different journey, and so it's important to understand what there needs are and work towards this. Teamwork - I understand the importance of working together and assisting others when needed. Working under pressure - This is something that I welcome, as it brings out the best in me. Meeting deadlines - Being an organised person generally, this helps me to plan my day/week well.
About
I am currently working as a Functional Skills English tutor and am now looking to work in a college/university setting. My goal is to work in an environment where I am able to learn new skills, and add more depth to my current ones. Teaching adults is something I thoroughly enjoy and would like to continue to build on this. I have completed the CELTA qualification, and I will be starting a Level 5 qualification in teaching Functional Skills English this year.
