Skills
I am passionate about transferring my industry-applied data science expertise into the curriculum to create a truly modern and employable graduate. The key skills I focus on integrating are: Applied Machine Learning Techniques: Moving beyond theory, I teach students to implement supervised and unsupervised learning including sentiment analysis, predictive modelling, and topic modelling using tools like Python and R to solve genuine business problems. Data-Driven Decision-Making: I translate my research experience in sectors like finance and healthcare into live case studies, teaching students how to extract actionable insights from large, complex datasets to inform strategic business choices. Ethical AI and Data Governance: A crucial skill I emphasize is building responsible AI systems. I teach the principles of data anonymization, bias mitigation, and algorithmic fairness, ensuring students can navigate the ethical and regulatory landscape of data analytics. Business Analytics in Practice: Drawing from my curriculum development experience, I ensure students gain proficiency with industry-standard analytical frameworks and understand how analytics drives value in areas like marketing, operations, and strategic management. My objective is to ensure that graduates are not only technically proficient but also possess the critical thinking and ethical grounding to apply these skills effectively and responsibly in their future careers.
