Skills
I am passionate about transferring my clinical expertise and leadership skills into the academic setting to support the next generation of advanced practitioners. The key skills I aim to teach and develop in others include:
• Advanced physical assessment and diagnostic reasoning
• Evidence-based clinical decision-making
• Leadership and professional accountability in advanced practice
• Interprofessional collaboration and communication
• Reflective practice and resilience in clinical environments
Through structured teaching, supervision, and academic engagement, I aim to empower learners to become confident, autonomous practitioners who deliver safe, effective, and person-centred care. My ongoing Professional Doctorate in Health also allows me to bridge research, education, and clinical practice to continuously improve patient outcomes and professional standards within advanced practice.
About
I hold a Bachelor of Education in Social Sciences, which provided me with a strong grounding in pedagogy, curriculum design, and learner engagement. Building upon this educational foundation, I have developed a career as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner within emergency and acute care, where I apply advanced assessment, clinical decision-making, and leadership skills. I am currently undertaking a Professional Doctorate in Health, which is further enhancing my ability to integrate research, education, and clinical practice to improve patient outcomes and workforce development.
Within education, I have planned and delivered teaching sessions to multidisciplinary teams, trainee ACPs, nurses, and junior doctors, focusing on advanced assessment, differential diagnosis, evidence-based management, and leadership in advanced practice. I am skilled in using a range of teaching methods including simulation, reflective learning, and case-based discussions to foster critical thinking, clinical reasoning, and professional autonomy.
I am particularly passionate about developing future practitioners who can deliver safe, person-centred, and evidence-informed care. The skills I wish to transfer include advanced clinical assessment, diagnostic reasoning, leadership in complex care environments, and professional accountability. I also aim to promote reflective practice and resilience within the advanced clinical workforce.
In a lecturing capacity, I hope to contribute to curriculum development, student mentorship, and the academic supervision of postgraduate learners, bridging the gap between theory and practice through research-informed teaching and authentic clinical insights
