About
I am skilled, passionate EAL Coordinator with more than 6 years of experience in the EAL Department at Eastlea Community School (EAL QTA), Riverside School (EAL Coordinator) and Hornchurch High School (EAL Coordinator). I believe that with my knowledge, skills and experience I could be an outstanding addition to an Additional Language team in your school. I have desire to support young people to achieve academic excellence., to make sharper their language skills and develop their character. I have skills and resilience in leading others to do the same. I can lead easily the EAL department, developing and implementing effective EAL teaching strategies, providing guidance and support to colleagues and collaborating with subject s teachers to ensure that EAL pupils can access the curriculum and achieve their academic potential. My interest in teaching was built during my youth in education. I always admired teachers and had the passion to gain a career in teaching and commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people I took my desire further by going into the University of Shumen in Bulgaria and successfully gained a qualification of master's degree in Turkish Language and Literature. This allowed me to start my career as a Language Teacher in a Primary/Secondary School in Bulgaria from 2002 until 2012. During these 10 years of teaching, I have always had high expectations for all pupils, and I always gained positive feedback from my lessons, which helped me rise to the position of Deputy Head teacher. In 2012, when I moved to the UK, I gained a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), followed by Early Years Education Level 1 qualification. From 2015 until 2017 I worked as a Midday Supervisor at Gallions Primary School. During my time there, I also was a voluntary Teaching Assistant in a Reception Class for 1 year to gain experience of working with younger children. In 2018, I started working at Eastlea Community School as an EAL Qualified Teaching Assistant. In this post, I have built my confidence in working with pupils from different backgrounds who require a lot of language and pastoral support. Teaching foreign students with limited English language skills was my main responsibility. (Small groups, study clubs - preparing resources, tracking and monitoring progress, intervention - proactive approach, underachieving In-class support, 1 to 1 session - differentiation of resources to ensure progress is made, creativity - breaking a topic into smaller chunks ). Teach several basic language skills to small groups of new arrivals to support their learning in mainstream classes. Beginner and intermediate levels to make resources to encourage active learning like an EAL homework club after school. I am able to provide drop-in support for students needing help with academic work and/or other concerns in these clubs. I constantly seek to innovate my own pedagogical practice. I also learn from others as I have the privilege of supporting many students in a variety of lessons. Planning, resourcing and teaching intervention groups for students with EAL. I have a proactive approach to my own profession Development, undertaking further study outside of school. I have the ability to set high expectations, which inspire, motivate and challenge pupils. I am good at planning and teaching well-structured lessons and promoting a love of learning. I also apply a range of assessments for learning strategies to ensure progress is evident during each lesson I teach, and I am accountable for achieving the highest possible standards in work and conduct. Therefore, I act with honesty and integrity; have strong subject knowledge, keep their knowledge and skills as a teacher up-to-date and self-critical; forge positive professional relationships; and work with parents in the best interests of their pupils. My inclusive approach to teaching is demonstrated by creating and using differentiated resources that cater for lower and higher ability students. I use a wide range of teaching strategies to meet different learning styles of my students and to ensure that they are effectively supported. Always providing accurate and productive use of feedback and data to secure pupils' progress. Knowing a range of strategies that promote excellent learning behavior. I can develop understanding through effective use of lesson time, promote a love of learning and children s intellectual curiosity, set homework and plan other out-of-class activities to consolidate and extend the knowledge and understanding pupils have acquired reflect systematically on the effectiveness of lessons and approaches to teaching contribute to the design and provision of an engaging curriculum within the relevant subject area. Being multilingual has also allowed me to be a translator to foreign parents/careers and pupils, who were unable to understand the British education system during parents' evenings, meetings and phone calls. As an educator, it is important to have a positive and bonding relationship with children as I believe that this is the key to beneficially educate and help students. I always tend to create, plan lessons and worksheets based on children's needs and abilities as well as having the ability to lead groups of pupils with challenging behavior. I believe I have the ability to take this vacancy. Due to my professional skills, confidence, knowledge and experience, I believe that this makes me a good fit for this vacancy because I know I will meet all the requirements. With 10 years of taking a progressively responsible role in this field, I am ready to take myself to a further level and help pupils to develop, learn and achieve in their education. I know that school improvement is a continuous journey requiring good interpersonal skills, hard work and a sense of humor. I enjoy the challenge of working with young people and supporting them to achieve their full potential. To conclude, I am an energetic, happy team player, adaptable and motivated person. I have strong self-discipline for myself and pupils, for them I always try their best at everything no matter the circumstances. Being from a different country I know the obstacles of learning a new language. Therefore, in teaching I rely on first-hand experience. I am a good teacher because I know and understand children and their concerns from personal experience. I am distinguished at helping, giving the best advice and calming others emotionally by making simple conversation and understanding their issue.
