About
I am Rollie Joe Carney, an award winning Radio Producer who also has a background in music and event videography. Through my networking I have fostered good working relationships with organisations as diverse as Kerrang! Radio, BBC Radio 4, Lime Pictures and World Wrestling Entertainment. I graduated with a Masters in Radio, Audio & Podcasting from the University of Sunderland in November 2024, achieving a Merit. Prior to graduation I won Silver in the Joe Lyons Best Producer Category at the Student Radio Awards, my men's mental health and issues show The Toolbox was nominated in a very competitive Best Creative Speech Category and until it went off air it was the only men's issues show on radio platforming organisations that help men. I taught filmmaking classes at Stagedoor Manor, one of the worlds top youth performing arts training centres focusing on Music Videography, Film Theory and Laurel & Hardy amongst other topics having an engaging balance of theory and practical work to produce work which was then screened at the Class Showcase. I graduated with a second class honours degree in Film & Television Production from Liverpool Hope University in 2013 and went on from there to direct and produce music videos, as well as freelancing for online webseries produced by independent producers. Even though I do not currently hold a teaching certificate I am keen to pursue one alongside employment as a lecturer and have shadowed Dr Philip Johnstone whilst he was lecture planning and also whilst he was delivering lectures to a university standard.
