Teaching both medical students and junior doctors
About
I have been working as a substantive consultant at Milton Keynes University hospital for the past 13 years in the field of General Paediatrics and Level 2 Neonatal medicine. I am a hard working clinician, who is sincere and highly enthusiastic and motivated. I had been instrumental in the development and establishment of key clinical projects at our hospital namely expanding and restructuring the Paediatric Assessment Unit, establishing the sickle cell transition service, implementing eCare ( electronic records) and expanding and coordinating the junior doctors rota. I have a strong academic background in my role as the tutor at the University of Buckingham Medical school for at least the last 5 years. I teach undergraduate medical students at least once ( 4 hour session) per week in addition to being the educational supervisor for at least 2 medical student for each 6 to 7 week block in Paediatrics. I have always received excellent feedback from the medical student, and in recognition of the high quality work in both teaching and supervision, I have been conferred the title of Honorary Senior Lecturer in 2023. I believe that I can bring a real positive energy to your department, while being able to quickly adapt to the new environment with the ability to work with the existing team to provide the best quality teaching to the medical students. I also have excellent research experience. I have undertaken research on Transition process for patients with Sickle Cell Disease in collaboration with colleagues from the Open University, and I have also undertaken work as the local Principal Investigator for the Harmonie study on RSV immunisation (Nirsevimab). I am currently the Research Lead for Paediatrics at our hospital. Due to change in personal circumstances, I would like to work in a different setting including moving wholly into academic work. I am really excited by this opportunity to work in a different setting and I look forward to hearing from you in due course.
