About
I am an experienced and highly motivated English language educator with over a decade of teaching experience across various contexts, including mainstream schools, language institutes, online tutoring, and voluntary educational organisations. My academic background, which includes two Master s degrees in TESOL and TEFL, has equipped me with strong theoretical foundations in language education, particularly in areas such as intercultural communication, teacher education, and psycholinguistics. During my recent MA in TESOL at Nottingham Trent University, I conducted a research project on intercultural communicative competence and sensitivity, which deepened my understanding of student diversity and prepared me to meet the linguistic and cultural needs of international learners in academic settings an essential quality for EAP teaching. Furthermore, my earlier research and publication on students beliefs and attitudes towards learning reflect my commitment to understanding learner motivation and adapting pedagogical approaches accordingly. I have successfully delivered English language instruction at multiple levels, from beginners to GCSE-level students, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN). My current work as a tutor with Randstad and as a language volunteer with Refugee Roots showcases my ability to individualise instruction, foster student engagement, and support learners from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds in achieving their academic goals. My recent EFL teaching post at Oxford International Education Group further strengthened my ability to create tailored academic content for international students, taking into account their varying proficiency levels and learning needs. I am adept at developing academic literacy, including skills such as critical reading, essay writing, and presentation techniques, which are central to EAP instruction. As a professional, I bring strong communication, classroom management, and digital literacy skills, as well as experience with educational tools such as SPSS and Python for data analysis skills that enhance my ability to evaluate learning outcomes and inform evidence-based practice. I believe my intercultural sensitivity, research-informed pedagogy, and dedication to student progress make me a strong candidate for this position. I am eager to contribute to a dynamic academic team and support students in achieving academic success in English-speaking higher education contexts.
