As well as my lived personal experience I have proactively self-referred for mental health training through Mind which were cpompleted April 2025; Mental Health Awareness Training Everyday Mental Health Training Mental Health suicide Prevention Training Relevant Personal Experience Early Intervention in Psychosis During my time at Blackthorn trust, I was encouraged by the psychiatric lead to contact my GP for another mental health referral. After several attempts I was referred to the Early Intervention in Psychosis team. I finally felt acknowledged, and this was a key moment in my recovery. The support included; ·worked upon a multidisciplinary team, such as nurses, Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Care Worker and occupational Therapist. ·the support from EIP has reduced my recovery time, whilst ensuring a highly detailed, tailored care plan. ·overall enhancement to my quality of life, which I never thought I'd achieve again. Blackthorn Trust After a traumatic episode and the effect of the lockdown measures enforced during the pandemic, I became an emotional and social recluse. My GP at the time referred me to the Blackthorn Trust to complete their 1 year mental health programme, which included; ·reduce isolation ·build resilience and manage well-being ·identify aspirations and learn practical skills ·explore next steps and access partner organisations ·access specialist advice on benefits, finance, housing and employment issues Early Intervention During a traumatic episode I reached out to my GP for help and I was referred to Early Intervention in Mental Health team. This consisted of 4 x 1 hour sessions. Af the end of this programme I was (incorrectly) deemed as no longer being a threat to myself or having any serious mental health issues.
About
I have first-hand, lived experience of both mental and social vulnerabilities. From an early age I have suffered with mental health issues and recently have been fortunate enough to be under the care of the Early Intervention in Psychosis team. Thanks to a holistic support structure based upon a multi-disciplinary care recovery service, I have truly gained a clear perspective of who I am, including identifying the personal traumas I have encountered, the triggers which could affect my recovery and the coping strategies relevant to my to my condition. I wholeheartedly believe that my life story and rehabilitation, equip me with the necessary motivation and encouragement to share with clients, in order to direct them on the right path. Throughout my career, I have demonstrated a deep commitment to understanding the unique needs of candidates. . My work as a Senior Lead Consultant involved not only meeting targets but also creating a supportive environment where team members could thrive and reach their personal goals. I believe this experience will translate well into working with service users, helping them to identify their own recovery pathways while fostering an atmosphere of trust and empowerment.
