About
With a First-Class Honours degree in Psychology and the highest overall academic performance across my university cohort in 2025, I bring both a deep theoretical understanding and a proven commitment to academic excellence. My background includes working closely with university students as an Academic Support Worker for Barry Bennett across several institutions, including the University of Manchester. This experience has given me insight into diverse learning needs and the importance of inclusive, student-centred teaching. In addition to academic support, I ve worked as an English tutor for college students, where I developed strong communication and pedagogical skills, and volunteered with a suicide prevention hotline, deepening my understanding of mental health an essential aspect of both psychological theory and student wellbeing. These experiences have shaped a teaching style that is empathetic, accessible, and intellectually engaging. I am passionate about psychology as both a scientific discipline and a tool for social good. As a lecturer, I would strive to create an inclusive, stimulating learning environment where students are encouraged to think critically, apply theory to real-world issues, and develop both academically and personally. My blend of academic achievement, student support experience, and psychological insight equips me well to make a meaningful contribution to teaching and mentoring the next generation of psychology students.
