I am passionate about creating a curriculum which inspires, challenges and promotes progress and achievement for all. I believe it is important to plan for effective assessment for learning and I am skilled in identifying gaps and supporting students to fill those gaps and embed the necessary knowledge and skills. I have taught many students with ECHPs and SEND needs and I am confident in adapting planning, the environment and assessment to meet the needs of the individual. I have recently completed and achieved the IQA Lead Level 4 qualification whilst working as a lecturer and assessor at New City College (NCC Hackney/ Redbridge). I am experienced in assessing City and Guilds Hospitality and Catering awards and NVQ Level 1- 3. During my time at NCC I led quality and compliance monitoring activities for my team, including observations, sampling sessions and work scrutiny. I am a very organised, self-motivated and flexible person and enjoy the challenge of learning new skills and acquiring new knowledge. I speak English and French fluently and have a full, clean driving license and my own car. I bring real-world industry experience, which adds authenticity to my teaching. I pride myself in staying up to date with current knowledge, trends and innovations in the culinary arts .
About
I am passionate about food and the culinary arts and delight in teaching and inspiring others to achieve their potential and develop their own personal creativity in catering. Food brings people together, sharing a meal builds memories and imparting culinary skills and catering knowledge to others means that this love of food continues for generations to come. I have over 35 years of experience in the catering and hospitality industry and I have worked in a variety of settings as an executive chef, chef manager, chef partie and as an apprentice chef. Transitioning into a lecturer role and assessor role has allowed me to combine my love for cooking with the opportunity to shape and inspire the next generation of chefs and support them to unlock their talents and creativity. I have the knowledge and experience needed to give students the opportunity to be chefs and hospitality professional of the highest standard. I m particularly motivated by the chance to contribute to a structured learning environment where I can not only teach practical skills but also instil important values like creativity, perseverance and innovation in the kitchen. I see this role as a way to give back to the industry that shaped me, by helping others build strong foundations for their careers. I believe that teaching at your establishment would give me the opportunity to be part of a team in a vibrant hub of learning where people's lives are transformed and people are given the opportunity to excel. Additionally, I m excited about the potential to develop new curriculum ideas, stay up-to-date with culinary trends, and foster an environment of continuous learning. Knowledge and skills I have over 35 years of experience in Hospitality and Catering, excelling in being an Executive Chef, Chef manager, Chef Lecturer and Chef Trainer/Assessor. I am talented, passionate, innovative, highly motivated and have a diverse skill set which enables me to achieve success and inspire others to perform to the best of their ability. I am a very talented chef able to combine my experiences of travel and different cultures to successfully cook food; and engineer menus which celebrate the multicultural society in which we live. I am skilled in creating a learning environment which encourages all students to achieve success no matter their starting point. I pride myself in building a good rapport with my students based on a mutual respect and desire to mentor and support them in their learning.
