Skills
I bring a broad range of teaching and professional skills developed through my experience as an ESOL teacher and current PGCE studies. My strengths include effective lesson planning, curriculum development, and differentiated instruction tailored to meet the diverse needs of learners from various cultural and educational backgrounds. I am particularly skilled at classroom management and fostering inclusive, student-centred learning environments that build confidence and promote active participation. I have experience supporting refugee and displaced learners, with a strong commitment to creating respectful, safe, and encouraging classrooms where every student feels valued. My subject knowledge includes teaching ESOL at Pre-Entry to Entry 2 levels and a solid understanding of the UK National Curriculum, including GCSE English content. I also draw on my background in Sociology and Criminology to enrich my teaching with social awareness and cultural sensitivity. I integrate educational technology into lessons using platforms like Kahoot! and YouTube to enhance engagement and accessibility, and I am confident in using digital tools to support diverse learning needs, including assistive technologies for SEND learners. In addition to my teaching competencies, I possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, allowing me to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents. I am empathetic, collaborative, and dedicated to continuous professional development. My training in safeguarding, autism and ADHD awareness, and inclusive education practices further supports my ability to meet the individual needs of learners and contribute positively to any educational team.
