Skills
I am a skilled and adaptable educator with a strong foundation in both the education and creative industries. Having completed a PGCE in Further Education specialising in Fine Art, I bring a well-rounded approach to teaching that combines subject expertise with practical, real-world insight. I have experience teaching across Level 1 to Foundation Diploma in Art and Design, where I deliver structured, inclusive lessons that encourage experimentation, critical thinking, and independent practice. My educational skill set includes confident lesson planning, differentiated delivery for diverse learner needs, formative assessment techniques, and the use of visual scaffolding to support understanding. I have worked extensively with SEND learners and apply strategies that ensure all students can engage meaningfully with creative tasks. In addition to my teaching practice, I bring industry experience from my time as a team leader at Wagamama s head office, where I developed skills in communication, staff training, time management, and performance coaching. These leadership qualities have translated into my classroom management and professional conduct in further education settings. I am confident using digital tools to support blended learning, and I promote the development of transferable employability skills such as collaboration, creative problem-solving, and reflective practice. I am now seeking roles where I can continue to bridge educational practice with industry relevance, supporting learners in becoming both artistically confident and career-ready.
About
I am a dedicated and reflective educator with a PGCE in Further Education, specialising in Fine Art. My teaching experience spans Level 1 to Level 3 Art and Design courses, including contributions to a Foundation Diploma programme where I supported learners in developing independent thinking, conceptual approaches, and portfolio preparation. I design and deliver engaging, inclusive lessons that foster creativity, criticality, and confidence, underpinned by pedagogical strategies such as active inquiry, dual coding, and scaffolded learning. I have a particular interest in supporting learners with additional needs, including those with suspected speech, language and communication difficulties, and I adapt my teaching practice to ensure accessibility and progress for all. My previous leadership experience at Wagamama s head office has equipped me with strong organisational, coaching, and interpersonal skills, which translate into a calm and structured classroom environment. I am committed to respectful, student-centred teaching that empowers young people to grow both personally and professionally. I now seek opportunities within further education to contribute my subject expertise, inclusive ethos, and passion for lifelong learning.
