About
I believe I am highly suitable for this roles in the education sector due to my extensive experience, professional training, and strong commitment to creating a meaningful, inclusive, and high-achieving learning environment. My background as a teacher of Business Education is complemented by a range of transferable skills developed through both education and industry experience. These include leadership, communication, curriculum development, digital literacy, and a deep understanding of pedagogy. Over the past several years, I have taught SQA qualifications including National 5 Business Management, Higher Business Management, and the S3 NPA in Administration & IT, both in school settings and as a private tutor. My experience delivering these courses has enabled me to develop high-quality, engaging resources that have been successfully used across multiple departments and schools. These resources are differentiated, inclusive, and accessible, ensuring learners of all abilities, particularly those with ASN, can engage meaningfully with the curriculum. I hold a Master s degree, during which I led a group project focused on solving a real-world business issue for a client. This experience further developed my leadership, team management, problem-solving and communication skills that I now apply daily in the classroom to guide and inspire pupils. My teaching philosophy is rooted in building strong relationships, understanding each learner s interests and needs, and using this knowledge to personalise learning. I take pride in creating a nurturing, safe, and positive environment where every pupil is encouraged and supported to achieve their best. My prior professional background in industry, particularly in training and development within the field of digital marketing, has also significantly informed my teaching. I have led training sessions for large groups of up to 200 individuals, which refined my ability to communicate complex ideas clearly, motivate diverse learners, and manage learning environments effectively. These skills have transferred seamlessly into education, especially when delivering lessons that incorporate digital tools such as Google Classroom, iPads, Microsoft applications, and platforms like NetSupport/Senso. In my teaching practice, I place a strong emphasis on formative assessment, tracking and monitoring, and reflective planning. I use detailed tracking to identify individual pupil progress, inform interventions, and tailor lessons to ensure challenge and support are appropriately balanced. I also embed cross-curricular elements, such as literacy, numeracy, and digital skills, to promote holistic learning and align with the wider school curriculum. Throughout my career, I have actively contributed to school improvement plans, collaborated with colleagues on resource development, and participated in professional development activities. I value CPD and consistently engage in opportunities to enhance my teaching practice and contribute to whole-school initiatives. I have also been actively involved in extracurricular activities including Young Enterprise, Supported Study, Gardening Club, Quiz Club, Easter School, and school excursions. These experiences have helped strengthen relationships with pupils beyond the classroom and support the wider school ethos. I believe my ability to motivate learners, deliver high-quality instruction, and build a positive and respectful classroom environment makes me a strong candidate for this role. I am passionate about education, lifelong learning, and supporting young people to reach their full potential, both academically and personally. I would be excited to bring my skills, experience, and enthusiasm to your school community. I am also in the process of studying my postgraduate certificate in International Education at the University of St Andrews. This course allows me to expand on my knowledge of pegagogy, technology and its uses in the classroom and also management in education.
