My research skills include: Meta-analysis and systematic review of literature, using Comprehensive Meta-analysis software CMA, Mathematical modelling, Application of scientific theory to quantitative data, Using different statistical software and programming languages such as STATA, SPSS, Python, R, machine learning models such as Support vector machines, Artificial Neural Networks, Decision trees, Rough sets etc, Probability of default in credit risk analysis. I have good ability to communicate material of Finance nature (specifically technical nature) to both academic audience and industry-related audience. I am effective both orally and in writing for undergraduate and postgraduate students and in my own research presentation. Due to some teaching experience in the area, I have generated ability to engage interest and enthusiasm of students to inspire learning. Moreover, due to coordinating different undergraduate courseworks, I have provided pastoral care to students withing their subject area. I have an ability to apply policy, practice and procedures including broader university awareness. In addition, I can work on own initiative to contribute to the research and teaching activities within Corporate finance area. I possess good organizational skills to manage time and prioritize research, teaching and administrative responsibilities as appropriate. Finally, I have experience of planning and progressing work activities within professional guidelines through application of initiative and independent judgment. I am currently planning to develop a good track record of research outputs in the area of Corporate finance, specifically in credit risk analysis. In the meantime I have applied for the grant for funding for our project called Narrowing the Financial Skills Gap Project: Financial Services Education and Mentorship Hub , which will provide trainings for young adults from deprived areas of Glasgow.
About
Currently I hold a position of a Research officer at DAWSUN (Diaspora African Women s Support Network). DAWSUN is an ethnic minority community interest company dedicated to improving all forms of inequalities in Glasgow. My job responsibility is to focus on the research initiatives that drive change in the African and other Ethnic Minority communities. My job responsibility is to identify sources of funding, prepare finding proposals and submit funding applications. One of the latest projects that I am working on as a project coordinator is a Financial services education and mentorship hub project that provides technical skills acquisition and mentorship (TAM project) in the areas of finance such as financial risk management using @Risk and Python platforms, application of big data analytics in banking, financial assets valuation, wealth management, financial literacy etc. Our TAM project helps young people and adults from ethnic minority background and those living in deprived areas of Glasgow to gain knowledge and acquire skills in the area of finance.
