About
I am about to complete my level 4 diploma at Wirral Met College. I am deeply passionate about supporting young people, I believe I would be a strong fit for this role both personally and professionally. I have really enjoyed helping students in my own class. I have a creative background with my Diploma in Art & Design, I bring with me a unique blend of empathy, communication skills, and life experience. I am also a qualified mindfulness practitioner and other holistic therapies, and have personal insight into the challenges young people can face particularly those with special educational needs. Supporting my daughter through her SEN journey has not only shaped my understanding, but also deepened my commitment to helping others thrive. I care deeply about mental health and feel I have a deep understanding and therefore I feel I am well-suited to encourage a mutual rapport with students. Each Sunday, I volunteer alongside my daughter at Parkgate pony Sanctuary, where we care for 50 plus guinea pigs. This has strengthened my belief in the power of encouragement, safe spaces, and positive coaching in enabling young people to succeed. This is an example of utilising passion (guinea pigs are my daughter s passion) to encourage somebody with low self-esteem to work outside of theirs comfort zone, new people and promote new experiences. My experience delivering creative sessions, offering emotional support, and mentoring others in a non-judgemental way aligns closely with the pastoral values. I have done this at my voluntary groups as a mindfulness practitioner to help others around their mental health. I am now ready to bring my energy, compassion and people skills into a professional pastoral care role, and would welcome the opportunity to support learners at a school or college. I have successfully ran my own business for nearly five years. I have excellent people skills and management skills. I am very organised an work hard. Thank you for your time.
