My role involves conducting thorough assessments utilizing investigative skills and formulating individualized treatment plans based on clinical reasoning. I also conduct respiratory rounds to manage the respiratory needs of my patients. I managed the unit and the staff working with me for better care and ensuring safety and quality services for all the residents. I actively participated in a multidisciplinary approach and managed the visits of GP, District nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and dietitians. I worked in a holistic environment where I had exposure to different clinical conditions with a focus on learning managerial roles. I performed a frailty assessment for the residents to assess risk of falls and maintaining proper guidelines for preventing the risk for them. I was actively involved in documentation and care plan management. I worked closely with the residents and their family for conducting the pre-move in assessment and discharge planning from the care home. As a part of my job role, I checked the medication stock, managed the stock and re-ordered the low stock. I worked as a physiotherapy theme lead in a project Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Program where I had supervised and guide 30 community-based rehabilitation facilitator (CBRFs) in Sankhuwasabha District, Nepal. I had to work extensively for assessment, diagnosis and evidence-based treatment approach to uplift the quality of life of persons with disabilities. I was actively involved in home-visit for the assessment and planning of individualized exercise protocol. I lead and managed implementation of Community Based Rehabilitation works in Sankhuwasabha district and worked for capacity building of CBR facilitators through onsite coaching for evidence-based physiotherapy treatment and exercises. I worked extensively on curriculum development and teaching for CBRF. I conducted training to newly recruited facilitators who had to work closely with variety of patient requiring physiotherapy assessment and interventions. I co-ordinated with several like-minded organizations such as National Federation of Disabled-Nepal and Smile Train for uplifting the quality of life of persons/ children with disabilities. As a part of the project, we had collaboration with Khandbari District Hospital, Sankhuwasabha where I worked as a physiotherapist focusing Musculoskeletal, neurological and paediatric cases. I worked with the hospital team for establishment of new physiotherapy unit in Khandbari District Hospital. With the establishment of a new unit, I learned about basic requirement of equipment and guidelines required for proper functioning of the physiotherapy unit. I worked with multidisciplinary team and was a significant team player for treatment planning of the patients. Through my journey as a community-based rehabilitation officer and physiotherapist, I came across variety of conditions from neonates to elderly populations requiring different approach for treatment. As an autonomous practitioner, I was involved in pre-assessment of the in-patient, planning of exercise protocol and discharge planning liaising with multidisciplinary team. With the exposure of variety cases in the rural part of Nepal to establishing a physiotherapy unit in a governmental hospital, I developed confidence and was motivated to bring change in people s life and the society. I completed my six-month rotational clinical experience training as a physiotherapy intern from Dhulikhel hospital, Kavre, Nepal in 2020. In this period, I was posted in various faculties of Physiotherapy department. I worked in pediatric department, neurology department, intensive care unit (ICU), surgery and medicine ward, gynaecology ward, physiotherapy OPD, orthopedic and traumatology ward and OPD and in community setting for Community Based Rehabilitation. The major roles in all the department included assessment and evaluation of patients, planning and execution of evidence-based physiotherapy intervention under the supervision and guidance of clinical educators/ physiotherapist. Patient -centred safe and effective physiotherapy intervention plan was established and intervention was provided in a competent manner. The quality documentation was prioritized for recording timely progression of patient through the physiotherapy intervention. I had to work extensively in discharge planning and was then checked and authorized by the clinical consultant. I worked in school education through community visits, lecturing on different physiotherapy subjects such as back pain and exercises, pregnancy and pelvic floor management and physical fitness training. I am a highly motivated and dedicated professional who strongly believes in enhancing student learning and supporting the development of future healthcare professionals. My clinical experience instilled in me a sense of responsibility for ensuring high care standards and promoting patient well-being, which are indeed the values I wish to translate into my teaching. I adapt quickly to different environments, constantly searching the literature and evidence-based practice to further my knowledge and keep my teaching contemporary and reflective of best practices.
