Skills
I am a qualified primary and secondary school teacher with a vast amount of experience in education. I feel many of these skills are transferable into any training education program.
About
I am a passionate fully qualified teacher seeking a position as a childcare assessor where I can share my knowledge, skills and experience and support learners in their childcare placements.
Currently I am working as a freelance Teacher at an independent specialist school in Whalley Range (three days per week) and also for a business called Pro-Bike delivering balance bike workshops to EYFS settings across the North West (two days per week).
Over the last eight years whilst working as a teacher, school visitor and as a trainer for St John Ambulance I have consolidated and strengthened my skills which I developed in training and during my NQT year. My experience has allowed me to develop into a well rounded and established professional. I am extremely passionate about working within
an educational setting where I can make a difference.
In 2014 I was employed by St John ambulance as a schools and community trainer. I
visited primary, secondary schools and colleges across the north west and delivered
first aid workshops to children, students and staff. I loved this position as the importance of first aid should not be overlooked. As a schools and community first aider I had to be extremely well organised, ensuring I had all resources when going out to educational settings and keeping training records up to date so that people received their certificates. I was required to assess the trainees on various elements of the courses.
I am fully aware of safeguarding practices in educational establishments and childcare
settings and adhere to all policies ensuring that the safety and welfare of the students is
of the highest standard.
I have worked in a variety of setting across Manchester where I have supported students
in various settings. I have worked for Manchester federation of schools as a Cover
Teacher supporting the Senco. I supported students on a 1 to 1 basis visiting their homes to engage them in learning when they were suspended or excluded from school.
If I had the opportunity to describe myself I think one of my best attributes is my
communication skills. I communicate effectively with other team members and
students to establish good relationships. I like to think that I have a good sense of
humour and I am patient with students.
I am a passionate and an energetic trained teacher, capable of providing engaging,
motivating and inspiring support to a variety of people. I feel that I have some excellent
skills learnt through my teaching that could be very valuable in any organisation. I am an
excellent communicator and always approach situations very professionally. I don’t hold the CAVA assessors award at present but I am keen to obtain this and would be happy to attend a course immediately if successful with my application.
I have a vast amount of experience working with young children right up to college students and adults. I look forward to discussing my application further and would be happy to expand on my experience.
