About
For well over the past 20 years, I have been involved in one way or another with some form of training, teaching, learning or development. From 2009 I have been expanding on my involvement with educational processes of learning, teaching and training while first attending university on my BA degree with my thesis on Educational theory, specifically the adaption of Biggs solo taxonomy over Blooms taxonomy applied to non-formal standardised education. It was during this time I also started my deep dive into other educational theories such as Constructivism, Social Learning Theory and Problem Based Learning. This journey in the world of academia continued with me first becoming a University Ambassador, and Youth Development Mentor and then becoming a University Lecturer. Following on with my personal need to learn more about the world of higher education I went on to attain my (PGCHE) Principles & Competences in Higher Educational Teaching in 2013. After the university sold the rights to the degree course I was lecturing on to a company in Germany, I wanted to use my knowledge of educational process in real world application. I became a freelance Educational Consultant to colleges and businesses, that delivered clientele chosen subject presentations or theory lectures and seminar sessions in training and development Educational Learning Theory in staff development within the workplace. Along with my freelance consultancy work, I began working at Rolls Royce at their fitness centre where I became Deputy Manager, and a part of that role was not only educating the public in correct health and training processes but also to upskill and develop the staff on specialised programs that boosted their existing level of understanding. Whilst working as a deputy manager and a consultant I felt that there were areas of my knowledge, understanding and expertise that I wanted to improve upon, so I returned to the University of Derby with a new focus on how psychology is used in adult education. I attained my master s degree in 2019. However, in the aftermath of the pandemic, Rolls Royce closed the fitness centre. I began my journey into industry with my learning and development role at Rainbow International. The position was a mixture of training and development and online digital content creation. Unfortunately, in 2022 my professional desire to do more than at the surface level of learning and development resulted in me moving on from Rainbow International into a role that had a greater need of me. In 2022 I started at Vaillant in a role that did not exist. I originally applied for online learning content creator. I was unsuccessful in that application, but Vaillant wanted me for a position that I was to create for myself as they understood their own need for me. Working in the Training and Development department I was simply tasked with what and where are we going wrong, and how can you correct it . It was a varied and diverse role that include Identifying and correcting gaps in training and learning plans and procedures. Planning, creation, and implementation of educational training theory and training techniques to both centre training managers and mobile training managers. In centre course observation and assessment of information delivery and evaluation of customer learning processes. Departmental training, bespoke managerial training, assessing and in-person delivery skill development. Heading special educational projects with various internal departments and external agencies. For me 2024 was a year of both professional and personal development. I again wanted to expand upon my own knowledge and understanding so I set myself on a CPD journey. I started first with topics I was using the most at Vaillant and acquired: (Level 4) Institute of Mental Health: Certificate in Adult Learning process and practice. (Level 4-QLS Endorsed) Kingston Open College: Diploma in Educational Psychology. (Level 5) Cambridge open academy: Educational Psychology & Development. Although I had experience within business management, I wanted to be able to prove it. So, continuing with my 2024 CPD journey I also acquired my (Level 5) Cambridge open academy: Certificate in Leadership & Management, and (Level 5) Cambridge open academy: Business Management Course. 2025 saw more change at Vaillant, as my role changed and began working with departments across the business. Implementing greater changes for training, development and learning by not only correcting and updating current processes but working on new learning projects and programs. Working closer with the Technology & solutions Portfolio Director, Head of Training, Training Operations Manager, Senior Training Manager, Stakeholders and outside agencies. Professional approach and philosophy My approach to all manner of Training, Development and Education and Learning is one of continuous improvement. It is a value that we must uphold onto as self-improvement in any form, both professional and personal results in higher standards and greater achievement in our recognised potential. Being the best at whatever we do proves we can overcome any limit that was once set by others. Therefore, we can become limitless.
