Paediatric Occupational Therapist ------- Duties in my current role as paediatric OT include: * Carrying out assessments of children who present with difficulties with motor coordination. * Planning and delivering interventions to children who's motor coordination difficulties impact upon their functional abilities. * Level 1 sensory integration training - including assessing sensory processing difficulties and delivering sensory modulation advice to support functional engagement. * Working within special educational needs schools within Nottinghamshire, delivering assessment and treatment to young people with Physical Disabilities, including assessment and provision of specialist equipment. * Implementing therapy programmes to be carried out within the home and school. * Autonomously managing my own caseload of children. * Assessing children's seating needs * Reviewing children's splinting needs and working with senior therapists to amend splints. * Working closely with parents and schools to share strategies and supportive tools to assist them with on-going intervention within the home and school. * Delivering training and information sharing with parents/carers/education staff. * Traveling between locations as part of my role to deliver OT interventions. * Working as part of a therapy team. * Attending regular supervision. * Keeping clinical records, writing reports and contributing to educational health care plans. * Keeping up to date with current policies, procedures and HCPC guidelines. * Supervision of junior staff members. * Practice placement coordinator. Maintaining and up to date CPD folder and engaging in on-going training and development opportunities
About
I am keen to progress my carer working within the education sector. I am currently responsible for the coordination of practice placements within the team and regularly support students with their learning journey in practice. Alongside my current clinical role, i feel supporting the next generation of OTs to develop is where my passion lies.
