About
I think I’d be a great fit for your advertised post of a Functional Skills Business Administrator as I currently work as a Medical Administrator with the Ministry of Defence and have experience as a Centre Administrator at Camberley Adult learning and in a Nursing Training department at Kingston University. I am accustomed to working with tutors, managers and Leads as I have produced the agendas / minutes for Management meetings, most recently with SSAFA, an Armed Forces Charity in meetings with the other volunteers and in the Faculty of Health and Social Care at St Georges Hospital. I have worked on the front reception assisting with course and student enquiries and responsible for dealing with the departments paperwork including checking appropriate ID’s, booking patients onto Rehab courses, organising exam rooms, tracked students work for submission and to reporting back results. At the University, I was responsible for reporting back to the Kent and South West London Ambulance Service about their cohorts of Paramedics to HR departments to help track academic progress. At the Adult Learning Centre we would monitor the learners attendance and follow up with the learner if absent for more than two classes to ascertain if there was any way to help them with any concerns , for example if they were in the wrong level class for languages, or in wrong level for fitness classes.
I have offered help within my capacity, to help with an L&D colleague who was struggling with printing and organising paper learning packs, time for taking and writing Minutes for each phase of development. My help contributed to the success of the Project to Organisers on new I.T systems to engage more with union members utilising a grant from the Business Innovation and Skills Department.
I have strong interpersonal skills in roles where I have dealt with learners, tutors, patients, Service Personnel and Management adapting to different people with tact and am able to stay calm under pressure. I am an well organised, methodical person and I thrive in a working as a team as well as on my own which I think are qualities that are required for this role. The reason I would like to apply for this role is because I have always been passionate about helping anyone who wants to improve their quality of life through Education and am really happy to support them and facilitate the learners' journey. After having a career break bringing up children, I'd like to upskill my knowledge in order to work with a range of different levels and particularly more on a Senior level, which I think this Business Administrator Apprentice role will help me aim towards.
