Key Achievements: a) Whole-School Literacy Development: Led the refinement of literacy policies and practices to improve reading outcomes; worked collaboratively with departments to ensure accessible pathways for all students; responded proactively to OFSTED s reading frameworks, facilitating staff CPD with a focus on disciplinary literacy. This was commended following a recent inspection: The school promotes reading across the curriculum. Weak readers benefit from effective support so that they develop their reading fluency and gain confidence. Pupils read often from interesting texts. These are well chosen to include a range of genres and encourage pupils to think about diversity and other faiths and cultures. b) RSE Development: Championed an inclusive approach to RSE, tailored for vulnerable students, including those with SEND and socio-economic barriers; developed platforms that foster open dialogue on relevant issues, going beyond legislative requirements; influenced whole-school policy to embed a permanent, inclusive RSE programme driven by student and staff feedback. c) Curriculum and Exam Outcomes: Achieved year-on-year improvements in English Language and Literature, with a recent 11% increase in GCSE outcomes (2023-2024 GCSE series); 17% above national average for English Language in November mocks; developed inclusive, OFSTED-aligned curricula, emphasising purposeful assessment and expert sequencing of substantive and disciplinary knowledge. d) Talent Management and Staff Development: A democratic leadership style and investment in staff growth, modernised teaching approaches (e.g., Rosenshine s Principles), and embedded best practices with third-party support; fostered a High Challenge, Low Threat environment, enhancing team engagement and stakeholder satisfaction. e) Professional Growth: Recently completed an MSc in Leadership and Management and became a Chartered Manager (CMI); balanced leading apprentice teachers while fulfilling senior leader apprenticeship requirements, demonstrating my commitment to professional excellence.
