About
With 17 years of experience as an IT trainer, including 12 years with Sussex Partnership NHS Trust, I have developed a wealth of knowledge and expertise in training diverse systems, including clinical, office, and eLearning platforms. My passion for training, combined with my extensive qualifications and experience, would make me an asset to your team.
Over the years, I have been responsible for learning and delivering training on a wide range of systems. Some of the most notable systems I have trained include SemaHelix, Cerner PIMS, Epex, eCPA, EPMA, Roci, Docman, and Carenotes. I am no stranger to having to quickly learn new technologies before their deployment, often under tight deadlines. Despite the fast-paced and sometimes uncertain nature of system rollouts, I have consistently been able to deliver effective and engaging training sessions.
In addition to these clinical systems, I have extensive experience training on Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams. I hold numerous Microsoft Office Specialist qualifications, and have also provided training on Skype, M365, OneDrive, and Dragon Naturally Speaking. My experience extends to training other online meeting tools such as Zoom and Webex, ensuring that staff are well-prepared for remote collaboration in today’s hybrid working environments.
I have also spent many years as a Joomla trainer and was responsible for creating the training guide that is still in use today. I take great pride in the eLearning packages I have developed for various NHS Trusts, and one of my eLearning courses gained significant interest from other NHS organisations. Furthermore, I personally set up and configured the PATHEKS online booking system for Covid vaccinations, utilising my web development skills to create a seamless system for vaccine appointments.
Beyond technical training, I have designed and delivered courses on important topics such as Cybersecurity and the Effective Handling of Information in Care Settings. These courses ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, including the Data Protection Act, GDPR, the Freedom of Information Act, and ICO reporting obligations. I also have extensive experience in writing courses, including a Business Studies / Business Start-Up course that was nationally accredited.
My qualifications include a Certificate in Education from Portsmouth University, where I was recognised as “an exceptional trainer” by my examiner. I also hold a Teaching Certificate from Northbrook College, a Trinity College TESOL qualification, and am a qualified Agile Project Management Practitioner and Accounting Technician. These diverse qualifications have equipped me with the tools to teach and train effectively in a variety of settings.
One of my proudest achievements was training the Hampshire CAMHS staff on the Carenotes system. Through dedicated one-on-one sessions, I helped them become the highest-performing users of the system within the Trust. This success was not just about delivering technical training, but also about building strong relationships and trust with my colleagues. Many former trainees have stayed in touch over the years, underscoring the positive impact of the rapport I have developed with teams.
In addition to my experience in training IT systems, I have written and delivered a nationally accredited Business Studies course and a Budgeting and Money Management course while working at HMP Ford, further highlighting my diverse training capabilities.
I am confident that my ability to work independently, along with my passion for teamwork and collaboration, would make me an excellent addition to your organisation. I thrive in environments that require problem-solving, organisational skills, and adaptability. Whether it’s delivering complex IT training, supporting teams through system transitions, or creating bespoke training packages, I approach each task with positivity and a commitment to achieving results.
Thank you for considering my application. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss how my skills, experience, and qualifications align with the needs of your team. I look forward to the possibility of contributing to your organisation and supporting your staff through high-quality, effective training.
