Are you experienced in supporting children with Additional Learning Needs (ALN)? Looking for a role that offers flexibility, variety, and the opportunity to make a difference in multiple school settings?
Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting ALN Teaching Assistants to work on a supply basis across a range of primary schools throughout Cardiff, Barry, Penarth, Cowbridge and the wider Vale of Glamorgan.
No two days are the same in this role. You could be supporting a Year 1 pupil with autism one day and working within a KS2 intervention group the next. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys adapting to different environments and building positive relationships quickly.
Your Responsibilities- Providing one-to-one support for pupils with Additional Learning Needs
- Supporting children with ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, SEMH needs and learning difficulties
- Assisting class teachers with lesson delivery and classroom activities
- Encouraging pupils to engage positively with learning
- Supporting emotional regulation and behaviour strategies
- Recording observations and feeding back to school staff where required
- Helping create an inclusive learning environment where all pupils can succeed
What We're Looking For- Previous experience supporting children with ALN
- A calm, patient and resilient approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to adapt quickly to new schools and classroom environments
- A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
