Lecturer in Carpentry & Joinery
Hours: Full Time (37 hours per week, all year round)
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £33,487 (unqualified) – £38,487 (qualified) per annum + benefits

About the Role
Reed Further Education are proud to be supporting a well-established FE College in the search for a Lecturer in Carpentry & Joinery. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tradesperson or existing lecturer to take the next step in their career and help shape the next generation of skilled professionals. Whether you are currently working on-site or already in education, this role offers the chance to pass on your expertise in a rewarding and stable environment. You will deliver high-quality teaching across a range of provision including full-time study programmes, adult learning and apprenticeships, helping learners develop both practical and theoretical skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective teaching, assessment and support to learners
- Plan and prepare lessons, schemes of work and learning materials
- Track student progress, set SMART targets and support achievement
- Maintain accurate learner records, attendance and assessment data
- Support students’ personal development and employability skills alongside curriculum delivery
What We’re Looking For
- Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Carpentry & Joinery
- Industry experience within the construction sector
- Teaching qualification (Level 3+)
- Assessor/IQA qualification (Desirable)
- Level 2 English & Maths (or commitment to achieve)
All candidates who register with Reed Further Education will have 2 years’ referencing taken up and will be required to have a DBS check completed. All offers are conditional upon satisfactory background checks. Reed Further Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment by completing mandatory training within 6 weeks of your first assignment and annually thereafter.
