Primary Teacher with SEN needed to work in a Mainstream Primary School in St. Helen's School SEND Provision. Salary: £140 - £180 per day. The role is a long term placement starting September 2026 with day to day, short term, long term, and permanent opportunities available.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver tailored lessons to meet individual learning needs.
- Create a safe, supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Differentiating learning activities to support a wide range of abilities and needs.
- Work closely with teaching assistants, SENCOs and multidisciplinary teams.
- Implement EHCP targets and personalise learning plans.
- Use positive behaviour support strategies to encourage engagement and progress.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, families and school staff.
- Promote confidence, independence and emotional wellbeing.
Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience in SEND, specialist education or inclusive mainstream settings.
- Passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs.
- Patient, empathetic and resilient approach.
- Skill at adapting teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
- Strong communication skills for building positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.
- Experience in Autism, SEMH, Complex Needs, PMLD or Alternative Provision encouraged.
- ECTs with a genuine interest in SEND warmly encouraged.
