SEN Teaching Assistant

Our specialist Woodbury SEN School in the WV10 area of Wolverhampton is recruiting for Teaching Assistants to join the team.

The Headteacher Humayun Ahmed has recently been awarded "Horizon leader of the year" and is looking forward to meeting you.

Woodbury School is an independent specialist day school providing high-quality education for boys and girls.

Based in Wolverhampton, the school meets the diverse needs of pupilsaged 7-18 with a range of complex learning needs including Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH).

What you ll get to do:

Assisting students in their educational and social development.
Provide support inside and outside of the classroom, so they can fully engage in a wide range of activities.
Help to set up activities for students, using technology or adjusting the environment to suit their needs.
Support teachers, engaging with students, providing learning support, and reacting to situations in the classroom in a positive, non-disruptive manner.
Working 1:1 with some students, to give them the time and support they need to learn.

What we re looking for from you:

Experience of working with children who have behavioural support needs with a good knowledge of behavioural management techniques and strategies
Grade C or above GCSE in English and Math, or L1/2 equivalent functional skills qualification
Hold or be willing to work towards a recognised teaching assistant qualification
