Reed Further Education are currently recruiting for an Electrical Lecturer to join a well-established further education provider in Birmingham delivering high-quality electrical and building services training. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrician looking to move into teaching or a current lecturer seeking a new challenge.
Role Details
- Job Title: Electrical Lecturer
- Contract: Permanent
- Hours: 37 hours per week
- Salary: £27,336 – £42,924 per annum (dependent on experience)
- Location: Birmingham
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging theory and practical electrical sessions up to Level 3
- Teach across City & Guilds courses including 2365/8202 and related electrical qualifications
- Deliver specialist topics such as 18th Edition and inspection & testing
- Plan and develop schemes of work and learning materials
- Monitor student progress and support achievement of targets
- Provide academic and pastoral support to learners
- Complete assessments, marking and feedback in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate records including registers and ILPs
- Contribute to quality assurance processes and continuous improvement
Requirements
- Level 3 Electrical qualification (or equivalent) or significant industry experience
- Teaching qualification (PGCE/Cert Ed) or willingness to work towards
- Experience in electrical installation or training
- Strong understanding of FE delivery and assessment
- Good IT and organisational skills
- TAQA qualification (desirable)
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain
