We are seeking a skilled GCSE English Lecturer to join our team in a Further Education (FE) establishment in West London. This role also includes a small component of teaching Functional Skills English, providing a diverse teaching experience.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Deliver engaging and effective GCSE English lessons to diverse groups of students.
- Plan, prepare, and assess lessons that meet curriculum standards and cater to the needs of all students.
- Incorporate a variety of teaching methods and resources to enhance learning outcomes.
- Provide additional support for Functional Skills English, ensuring students develop essential literacy skills.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback and interventions as necessary to promote student success.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and participate in ongoing professional development.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- A degree in English or a related subject.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification specific to the FE sector.
- Proven experience in teaching GCSE English and ideally some experience in Functional Skills English.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to engage and inspire students from various backgrounds.
- Commitment to professional development and maintaining high teaching standards.
