Temporary Teaching Assistant (TA2b) - KS1 & SEND Enhanced Provision - Middleforth Church of England Primary School, Penwortham.
Location: Hill Road South, Off Marshall's Brow, Penwortham, Preston, PR1 9YE. Full time equivalent salary, part time term time only, paid pro rata. Closing date: 12pm 26 June 2026.
The Role
The role supports learning during Key Stage 1 mornings, contributes to the PLAY Team for high quality lunchtime provision, and works within the SEND enhanced provision space alongside the SENDCo and experienced staff.
Responsibilities
- Support learning in Key Stage 1 during mornings.
- Be part of the PLAY Team, supporting high quality lunchtime provision.
- Work within the SEND enhanced provision space, supporting pupils with additional needs alongside the SENDCo and experienced staff.
- Ensure inclusive, engaging playtime that builds social skills, creativity and wellbeing.
Essential Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Supporting Teaching & Learning.
Desirable Qualifications
Essential Experience
- Experience working with children in Key Stage 1 and/or SEND.
- A nurturing, patient and empathetic approach.
- Strong commitment to building positive relationships with children.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexible, reflective and proactive approach to supporting learning.
- Understanding of safeguarding and commitment to child welfare.
- Understanding of early reading and phonics.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working within a SEND provision or with children with complex needs.
- Knowledge of relational approaches / trauma informed practice.
- Experience supporting pupils with communication, sensory or emotional needs.
